Scott VanLoo
I'm excited to have the opportunity to come back for my second year as the head coach of the middle school program. We'll take what we learned from our past season and apply it to this coming year while also keeping the experience fun and exciting for all.
All About Me
Originally from Portage, MI (Portage Northern '92), and graduated from KVCC. I reside in Mattawan with my wife, Susan, and two boys, Sam (sophomore at Northwestern University) and Ben (10th grade at Mattawan).

I currently work for Zoetis as a Digital Data & Analytics Project Manager and Financial Analyst within the ZTD division. I do enjoy process improvement analysis along with getting my hands on website development and technology coding. I also jump online periodically and join my son's Fortnite squad to see if I can hang with them. I've been known to crank some good 90s (as Ben would say) with my building tactics.

Hobbies include running, swimming, home theater building, graphic design/website development, waterskiing, wakeboarding, and computer gaming.

Running Background
Ever since I was a child, running has been a love of mine. What started off as a sprinter mind set of in my younger days to now running multiple races (5Ks to ultra-marathons) per year, I feel that running is a part of my lifestyle that has benefited me in many ways. In 2008, I woke up and felt that I was out of shape and made the decision to get my health back in check. The scale was showing 235lbs, and I made it a goal to find a better and healthier me. Flash forward to today, and I’m running an average of 50 miles a week, finishing ultra-marathons, and (more importantly) feeling better about my health. This desire to run has opened many doors to give back to the community by sharing my story with others to help inspire future runners and motivate current runners.
